Blu Ray Releases for 11/04 Previewed Briefly by Blue

A Christmas Story (Ultimate Collector's Edition) (Warner) - An endearing, enduring classic and just plain entertaining. If this were packed with its sequel, which though inferior is still fun, I'd definitely pick it up. As it is, I'd wait for it to go down in price.

The Colt (Echo Bridge) - Echo Bridge has never released a good movie to my knowledge, so even though I've never heard of this I would rest easy in the assumption it sucks hard.

Futurama: Bender's Game (Fox) - Woo! Futurama finally on blu ray. Animation generally looks amazing in HD, especially computer based animation such as this. I bought the other two movies on dvd and I'll probably get this one(even though it's already been stolen and posted on the blog by thievely FNORD, below) but I'm unsure of which format.

Get Smart (2008) (Warner) - Never saw it, waiting for cable.

Gunnin' for That #1 Spot (Music Distribution) -
Fuck music blu rays.

Henry Poole is Here (Anchor Bay) - Not interested.

IMAX: Extreme (National Geographic) -
Not interested in imax unless it has Batman punching people.

Monster's Ball (Lionsgate) -
Halle Berry sex scenes in hd! Woo! Unfortunately they're wrapped up in a fairly obvious, ill conceived movie about racism.

NBA Champions 2007-2008 (Warner) - Basketball is the most boring sport in history. Except curling.

O.A.R.: Live from Madison Square Garden (Summit) -
Fuck music blu rays, Fuck O.A.R.

Planet of the Apes (1968) (Fox) -
Woo! One definite buy here, I love Heston kicking ape ass.

Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution Blu-ray Collection (Fox) - Tempting set but pricey, and frankly the other movies in the series do not benefit from greater image clarity.

This Christmas (Sony) - Pass

Transsiberian (First Look) - From the director of the Machinist and Session 9, definite must-rent. Has Woody Harrelson, which is actually a good sign sometimes. Good taste in scripts.

Universal Soldier (Lionsgate) - Van Damme started out as a waiter, and this movie makes an argument for that career choice.

Vexille (FUNimation) -
Anime's not my thing.

Warren Miller's Playground (Shout Factory) - Music blu ray, you know what I say to those.
